The Reformer Edit by ÜRTH Pilates: forest-green instructor handbook cover

Made for the person teaching the class

You bring the teaching.
We’ll bring a little structure.

Knowing an exercise and building a whole class around it are two different skills. There’s the order, the transitions, the spring changes and the options you want ready when a client needs something different.

Follow a complete plan, borrow a section or build your own sequence from the exercise library.

120 illustrated position guides

Space to make it yours

Planning templates, class reflections and position-led adaptations to support your own professional judgement.

from one instructor to another.

Why we made it

Good instructors deserve support, too.

At ÜRTH, our instructors are a huge part of how our studios feel. The thought they put into a class, the way they explain a movement and the care they give each client all matter.

We wanted to put that same care into something instructors could use beyond our studios. Something practical to reach for after qualifying, when planning starts to feel repetitive, or when you simply want a fresh starting point.

This is a resource for your teaching, wherever you teach. Keep your own style. Find the ideas that fit. Make the class yours.

Who it’s for

Newly qualified. Finding your flow.
Ready for fresh ideas.

Designed for qualified reformer instructors who want clear, contemporary programming for Foundation and Progressive classes. You don’t need to teach at ÜRTH to use it.

Equipment covered: reformer, box, ring, ball and optional light hand weights. No jumpboard. Individual plans use different combinations, so every prop isn’t needed for every class.

Spring guidance describes the intended total resistance rather than universal spring colours or counts. Adapt it using your training, your clients’ needs and the manufacturer’s equipment guidance.

A few useful details

Before you add it to your teaching toolkit.

Is this suitable for a newly qualified instructor?

Yes. The language and exercise breakdowns are designed to be straightforward. You should already hold an appropriate reformer teaching qualification; this handbook supports your planning and doesn’t qualify you to teach.

Can I use it if I don’t teach at ÜRTH?

Absolutely. It’s made for qualified instructors working in different studios and teaching in their own style.

Will it work with my reformer?

The guide avoids model-specific spring colours and numbered settings. Because equipment differs, you’ll need to choose appropriate spring combinations and check each setup against your equipment guidance. Not every setup suits every machine.

Can I adapt the plans for my own classes?

Yes. Use whole plans, borrow sections or build your own sequences. Adjust the exercise choices, range, load and timing to suit your clients.

How will I receive my handbook?

Your PDF download is delivered automatically after purchase. Use your email address at checkout so you can keep your download link handy.

Is this a physical book?

No. The Reformer Edit is a 107-page digital PDF. No physical book is included.

Does it cover injuries, pregnancy or rehabilitation?

It includes position-led teaching adaptations and guidance on when to stop or refer. It isn’t an injury rehabilitation, prenatal or postnatal programme, and it doesn’t replace individual assessment or specialist training.

Can I share the PDF or use it in a training course?

Your copy is for your own teaching use. You can adapt the class ideas for your clients, but sharing, reselling or including the pages or illustrations in another commercial manual or course requires permission from ÜRTH Pilates.
